| | Feed My Lambs is a quarterly newsletter edited and published by Rev. Dale and Julee Brynestad of Corpus Christi, TX. Each issue contains a family profile, artilces, topical issues, reviews of materials, resources and helps primarily contributed by our own subscribers. General responses are welcomed and encouraged. | The name Feed My Lambs is taken from John 21:15. These words were spoken by our Lord to Peter, following Jesus' resurrection from the dead. With these words Jesus welcomed Peter back as a disciple, following his shameful denial of the Savior in the courtyard of the high priest. Jesus commissioned Peter, and He commissioned each of us to "Feed My Lambs." This is the central task of all Christian Education -- feeding God's precious lambs and sheep with His inspired Word. We pray that this theme will be the hallmark of all our efforts and as we bring up our children "in the training and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4). |
OUR PURPOSE We believe there is a need within our Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod for families who are homeschooling or who are considering homeschooling to have a forum or network for the sharing of ideas, concerns, resources, and needs. Under God's guidelines, we hope to provide such a forum and network with our newsletter and annual retreat. To this end, we offer the following as suggested purposes for Feed My Lambs. - To provide a forum for LCMS homeschool families
- To further the cause of Christian Education in the homes of the LCMS.
- To serve as a liaison with the LCMS Board for Parish Services, District Parish Services staff, and parochial schools within our Synod
- To be and remain fully committed to the historical doctrinal positions and practices of the LCMS

| OUR METHOD We have undertaken this project because of the need for support and encouragement of homeschooling families in the LCMS. We will continue, God willing, to edit and distribute our newsletter "Feed My Lambs" and sponsor a yearly retreat. A critically important part of our efforts is based on input from fellow LCMS homeschooling families. For the newsletter, we are dependant upon receiving responses, articles and input from our readers. For the retreat, we are dependant upon volunteers to host the retreat on our behalf. |
